Inspiring apprenticeships with Airbus

12 May 2017

It is full speed ahead for the Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge for Schools project with another apprenticeship event, this time with Airbus. The event took place at Airbus Defence and Space in Stevenage.

As delivery partners in London and the South for the Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge for Schools project, commissioned by the National Apprenticeship Service, part of the Skills Funding Agency (SFA), we’re partnering with a range of employers to give young people unique opportunities to see first-hand the diverse range of roles within varying companies that can be pursued through apprenticeships.

The event brought together a range of Airbus employees and 30 16-19 year olds from 3 different schools eager to find out more about alternative routes into the world of work. Students learnt about the different jobs and apprenticeships at Airbus, and attended presentations from current and past apprentices, a Graduate Project Demonstration – Space Oddity – Miniature Mars Rover and Drone, and a tour of the site.

Any schools interested in booking a free apprenticeship support session at their school can find more information about what we offer and how to book on the apprenticeship section of our website.
