How to sign up
How to sign up as a teacher
Follow the link to sign up at the top of the page and click ‘Teacher Register here’
Completing your profile
This will take you to the Primary Futures portal, where you will be asked to provide a few basic details, and your email address. Once your registration is approved, you will receive an email containing a temporary password.
When you log in using this password, you will be asked to change it to something more memorable. On first entering the portal, we’ll ask you to provide a few more details about yourself, and what you need as a school.
Activities you need help with
You’ll be asked to select activities that you need help with, for schools this includes – Career Insights, Careers Fairs, Reading or Number partner in a primary school, or volunteers interested in being contacted about being a school governor.
Once you have logged in, click on the Manage Opportunities button in the navigation bar to:
- Search for volunteers
- Create a new opportunity for your children
- Edit your opportunities and activity details
Search for Volunteers
Once you click on the Search for Volunteers button you will see a map of the area around your school. You can also view volunteers as a list view.
Volunteers will appear as pins on the map. If there are multiple volunteers in the same area, you will see coloured circles with a number in them showing the number of volunteers. Click on these to see the individual pins.
Click on the pins to see a volunteer’s profile and click Add to Selection to put them in your shortlist of potential volunteers. This does not mean you are sending them a message.
Once you have selected volunteers, click Review Shortlist & Invite to see their full profile and send them an invitation.
Once you get to the invitation page you can create your message, personalise it and press Send
Once you’ve sent invitations you can then go back to search for more volunteers for your opportunity, invite those left in your shortlist or make it public.
After the Event/Activity
If accepted, once it has taken place schools complete automated feedback forms. We ask four or five questions about how the event went. We strongly recommend that this is completed, as it allows us to keep an eye of the quality of volunteers and whether the service is working for both parties. We also use your feedback to report to funders, which will help to keep this service completely free to schools and volunteers.
We are always here to help you. For support please contact us on email@example.com or 0207 566 4880.
