Inspiring the Future has helped Sarah and her colleagues to demystify the world of work for Belvedere students by connecting them with volunteers representing a wide range of different jobs and career pathways.
Several volunteers Sarah has connected with through the Inspiring the Future platform have become regular supporters of her careers provision, including providing work experience placements to many of her students.
For Sarah, the impact on students has been huge, particularly for those from less advantaged backgrounds who have been able to speak to industry professionals, often for the first time.
“Not all young people have contacts who can advise and support them, so it is essential that schools help fill those gaps. Schools need to ensure that background isn’t a barrier to success, so meaningful encounters are vital in offering all students advice and guidance.”
