The autumn term presents the start of a new school year with particular emphasis placed upon Year 9 careers guidance; Year 9 will select their options early in 2019. The Isle of Man Department of Education, Sport and Culture, schools and businesses work collaboratively to inspire our students and broaden their understanding of future opportunities. The flagship event of our autumn term is the Employment and Skills Fair which takes place at the Villa Marina. Each secondary school on the island transports at least one whole year group of students to the event, enabling students to speak impartially with employers from a spectrum of sectors:
- HM Forces
- Architecture
- University College, Isle of Man
- Engineering
- Art
- Pharmaceutical
- Finance
- Education
Ramsey Grammar School visited the fair with their Year 9 cohort of students. The year group explained how the opportunity to speak with employers inspired them and helped with their options selection; several employers were former Ramsey Grammar School scholars.
