We’ve some brilliant new ways to inspire students about future careers in Engineering, Digital, Operations and Computer Science thanks to our successful partnership with Amazon. Young people may never have considered STEM careers as an option – but that could be about to change!
Firstly, we have three very interactive Amazon career ‘tours’ (more about them below). Then we have two virtual events where students can hear LIVE from and chat to Amazon employees.
And it doesn’t stop there – Amazon volunteers can come into your school to support your own activities, giving students even more chances to explore and be inspired. Together with the tours and live events, it’s a powerful mix that makes STEM careers feel real and achievable for anyone.
Amazon career tours
Each career tour includes short videos from Amazon employees actually doing the job, and fun quizzes to recap learning. You can run these whenever suits you. And you can make it hugely interactive by having students compete against each other using their own devices, or play as a class without devices. Individual students can also watch these in their own time.
Teacher toolkits are also provided for each tour – from scripts to help with delivery to student learning handouts.

How to use the career tours:
- Start whenever and wherever using Kahoot! which is a games based learning platform – you don’t need an account or to sign up, so it’s really easy using the links provided.
- Run a career tour as a complete activity (times range from 30-50 minutes). Or they’re purposely designed so you can break them into sections or ‘stops’ on the way.
- Intersperse students’ learning by inviting workplace volunteers in virtually or in-person. This works in tandem to really bring careers to life, and students can ask questions too!
Tour 1: Robotics Fulfilment Centre Tour
In this tour students step inside Amazon’s world of super-fast fulfilment to meet the people who design and bring the technology to life. They’ll learn about hardware and software, how Amazon pick, pack and ship orders worldwide and how engineering is vital in facilitating this.

Tour 2 : Prime Video career tour
This c30 minute interactive tour explains how Amazon’s Prime Video is powered by AI, Machine Learning and lots more. Students will discover how Amazon delivers film and video content onto Prime Video and into your living room – using computer science paired with incredible people.

Tour 3 : Amazon Web Services – data centre career tour
This tour of Amazon’s Web Services will show students future careers directly from Amazon employees; to discover the technology behind cloud computing. Learn the part that STEM roles play in defending the cloud from cyber attacks, where data centres fit in and how you can stream from anywhere at anytime.

LIVE virtual events for schools
We’re running two live events – one in October for Primary schools and another in November for Secondary/Colleges – both are free to schools, and we welcome as many schools as possible to join us on Zoom for these really interactive sessions.
Event 1 : Inspiring STEM futures – fulfilment centre
Wed 15 October 2025 (primary)
Join this fun, virtual event where pupils will hear from different Amazon employees about their jobs, how they discovered it and lots of insider knowledge. It’s interactive and specifically aimed at primary age children. They can quiz our volunteers and see the amazing technology and robots used in fulfilling millions of orders.
Event 2 : Inspiring STEM careers – streaming and cloud
Wed 12 November 2025 (secondary)
This brilliant, virtual event involves engineers working on cutting-edge streaming and cloud technologies. Students will hear first-hand about the innovative work driving these industries, discover what a typical day is like and explore the skills and technology that make it all happen.
Invite engineers into your school
We have MANY Amazon and other STEM career volunteers that you can invite into your school. You can search for volunteers on the Inspiring the Future platform by job title and sector – and if they’re not local to you, invite them to join you virtually!
They’ll be happy to talk about their job, what inspired them to take the STEM route, what subjects are useful to have, different types of engineers and lots more.
Speaking to someone actually ‘doing the job’ makes a world of difference.
I’m an employer – how can we get involved?
