Plug + Play videos bring people doing real jobs directly into your classroom. They enable young people to hear first-hand about a variety of jobs and widen their horizons in an easily accessible way.
Through ready to use films, students can discover what a job really involves, what’s needed to get into the role and what a typical day looks like. Videos can be used in short sections within a lesson or as a complete session, making them adaptable across primary, secondary and specialist settings.
With 30 videos available across Key Stages 1 to 4, Plug + Play Videos offer a practical way to introduce diverse role models to students, raise awareness of different jobs and support meaningful job and career related learning.
Our videos are appropriate for primary pupils – with fun and interactive elements – through to secondary and college students. You simply need to be signed up for Inspiring the Future to access them – no strings attached.

Each video features 2-4 different roles, designed to open young minds to new and interesting careers to aspire to. Volunteers featured range from marine biologists and food scientists to branding experts and aviation professionals. Each of our volunteers speaks honestly about their role and the routes into it – giving their real-world, practical insights.

How they work
The videos are interactive and designed to prompt discussion:
Designed by former teachers, they’re intended to be flexible and straightforward to use.
- They can be used in full or as shorter sections within a lesson
- Videos include ‘pause’ moments to pause and reflect.
- They run between 35 and 55 minutes
- Can be searched by Key Stage and subject area
- Each video has a specific lesson plan and worksheet (see below)
