Resources and guides

Here you can find some useful free resources to help you with setting up your Inspiring the Future account and beginning your journey to inspire young people.

We have a wide range of other free resources designed to support you, and offer advice, when you start going into schools and talking to young people including:

  • Hints and tips on accepting invitations and attending events
  • Ideas for engaging young people.

To access and download these resources, please register for Inspiring the Future above or log into your account. It’s quick and easy to set up your account with us, and you won’t be committing to anything – all we ask for is you spend an hour per year visiting a school to talk about your job.

This short video provides an overview and shows how easy it is to sign up:

When you sign up you will receive access to a Welcome pack which contains all the vital information you need to know about our service. It also includes links to key resources that will support you in using your account and attending events.

Profile Guidance

To ensure you get the most out of your Inspiring the Future journey it is important to maximise your visibility as a volunteer. This document [PDF] contains advice and guidance on how to set up an eye-catching profile to grab the attention of teachers, as well as ideas for how you can take ownership of your volunteering journey with us.

Hear from volunteers

Our wonderful volunteers are always ready and willing to impart their wisdom not only to young people, but to prospective volunteers as well.

In the short video below, you can hear first-hand how easy and fulfilling taking part in a school activity is.

You can read more inspiring stories from some of our volunteers here.

Hear from schools

The schools registered with us are always delighted by the impact volunteers have on their students.

In the video below, you can hear from a school about the difference Inspiring the Future volunteers made at their event.

You can find out more about the difference our volunteers make to students first-hand, from the schools here.
