Pupils are encouraged to showcase their artistic talents and reflect on their understanding of Aviation sector jobs by drawing a picture to showcase some of the various aviation jobs they know about, inspired by what they’ve learned during the Inspiring Aviation activity.  

But here’s the exciting part: they need to think beyond the present and envision how technology and innovation will shape the future of aviation!

Our challenge to your students

Draw a picture that brings to life what a job in aviation might look like in the future! 

Think about aviation jobs you already know about or ones you heard about in your session. Imagine what the future of aviation might look like with new technology and green innovations! 

Remember to celebrate diversity in aviation. Everyone, regardless of gender or background, can be part of this amazing world! So, draw people from all walks of life – male, female, from every corner of the globe.

Judging criteria  

  • Creativity: How imaginative and creative is the artwork? – 25%  
  • Understanding of the Aviation Careers: Are pupils aware of a range of jobs in aviation? Does the artwork portray the future advancements and possibilities? – 50%  
  • Relevance: Does the artwork show their understanding of diversity in aviation-25% 

Deadline  

There will be two competition rounds. Entries must be received no later than:   

  • Friday 24 May 2024 for 1st Competition Round (March to May period)  
  • Friday 29 November 2024 for the 2nd Competition Round (September to November period)  

Prizes

  • 1st place – A certificate, Aviation themed goody bag (Books and a 4DRC Mini drone with camera) and an employer donated prize OR £30 Amazon voucher
  • 3 Highly commended prizes – A certificate & Aviation themed goody bag (Books and a Mini drone with camera)
  • Best school entry awarded to the school judged to have the best entries from a whole class – Certificate and £100 voucher of choice (to be spent on something that encourages teamwork, creativity, and learning)   

All winners will have their entries showcased in an online gallery on the Inspiring the Future website and posted on social media.

Submitting entries online  

Thank you for participating in our Inspiring Aviation Competition!  Download and print our competition template (optional) Inspiring Aviation KS1&2 Entry Template or use white A4 paper. To submit your entries online, please follow the steps outlined below.  Please note that only teachers should submit entries.

Step 1: Scanning/Naming Your Files  

Please ensure high quality scans or photos of the pupil’s artwork individually. Make sure that each artwork has the name of the pupil written on it and is visible in the photo.    

Before uploading, ensure each of your pupils’ files is named according to the following format: school name, town or city, pupil’s initial and surname e.g. StBedeSchool Leeds CBaker  

Step 2: Completing the Form  

Fill out your school details in the form provided below.  

Step 3: Uploading Your Entries  

Drag and drop all your pupils’ entries into the box. Click ‘enter’ to finalise your submission.  

General Guidance:  

  • Submit entries from a computer rather than a mobile device for optimal performance.  
  • For multiple entries, consider compressing them into a ZIP file or submitting in batches of up to 20 entries each.  
  • Ensure the total size of your upload does not exceed 120MB.  
  • Be patient during the uploading process, especially for large files or multiple submissions. Please do not close your browser window until you are redirected to the next screen.  

Opting into the Online Gallery:  

If you wish to have your pupils’ entries displayed in our online gallery, please select the appropriate tick box. If not, simply leave it unchecked.
