Plug + Play Videos
Designed to be fun and interactive, our Plug + Play videos are an engaging way to introduce new job roles to children.
Each video has a theme and includes two to four volunteers talking about their job. This can range from pilots to professional crafters.
You can use them as a standalone lesson using the teacher plan and worksheets provided, or split into smaller sections to intersperse with other learning. The different theme of each video makes them ideal to create cross-curriculum learning and introduce careers education.
EXAMPLE VIDEO
In the Uplifting Futures – Tackling Gender Stereotypes KS2 video pupils meet the following people:
- Arborist/Tree Surgeon
- Early Years Educator
- Subsea Engineer, and
- Mental Health Nurse.
Children see how people work in diverse jobs, with a guessing game to challenge gender assumptions.
Why use it?
To help students question gender stereotypes and see that anyone can do any job.
As soon as you’re signed up to Primary Futures, you can access the videos, worksheets, and lesson plans on the home page of the platform.
